Dream Hotel Group announce first UK hotel
The US-based hotel brand and management company, Dream Hotel Group, plan to open their first UK site according to The Caterer. Their Unscripted brand will launch in 2020 in Birmingham Central Hall, and is in partnership with Ciel Capital private equity. The 135-bedroom Unscripted hotel will share the site with a 51-bedroom Stow-Away aparthotel, as a dual occupancy agreement.
Sales increase of 12.5% for Azzurri Group
As reported by Paul Charity at Propel Info, Azzurri Group has announced a 12.5% sales increase, totalling £262.8m to the year end 2 July 2017. The group operates the ASK Italian, Zizzi, Coco di Mama and Radio Alice brands. Furthermore, the group's reported strong like-for-like growth as well as increased EBITDA to £38m, a 8.6% rise. Displaying continued investment in their estate, the group reported 17 new site openings as well as 31 refurbishments.
Bethnal Green cinema to become a boutique hotel in £45m redevelopment
The London borough of Tower Hamlets has approved the planning for an iconic Bethnal Green cinema to be transformed into a new 130-bed boutique hotel, according to Boutique Hotelier. Southern Grove, a mixed-use developer, will restore and redevelop the former Rex Cinema. The project plans for a 130-bed hotel as well as roof top bar and restaurant and a single screen cinema. Furthermore, the project will also see the restoration of the original art deco façade.
Ei Group Harrogate pub reopens with a new concept
Enterprise Inns, formerly Ei Group, has reopened The Tap n Spile in Harrogate with a new concept, according to Propel Info. The former landlord left the real ale pub after a 23 term earlier this year in March, the traditional hostelry offered live music and darts. However, Ei Group have rebranded the site The Tap and carried out an extensive refurbishment programme and the pub now includes a craft beer shop.
Fifth site for Cubitt House
As reported by Pub and Bar magazine, December will see Cubitt House's fifth opening, The Coach Makers Arms on Marylebone Lane. The three storey public house originally opened its doors 140 years ago and will now feature a ground floor bar as well as an elegant dining room on the first floor and underground cocktail bar.
And Finally...
The Caterer has reported that Earls Court in London is set to see an entire street transformed into an 'epicurean avenue', which will feature four restaurants, two bars and woodland pergola garden. The site is located in the former Prince of Wales pub on Lillie Road and four disused connecting buildings. Set to open on the 9th November, the concept named the Prince will feature Patty & Bun, Vietnamese barbecue restaurant MAM, Thai restaurant the Begging Bowl as well as farm to table restaurant Rabbit.
