Welsh expansion for Brewhouse & Kitchen
As reported by Pub and Bar Magazine, Brewhouse & Kitchen has 18 sites across the UK. The company has acquired the freehold for the Y Mochyn Du pub by Cardiff's Sophia Gardens, which marks their first move into Wales. The premises will undergo a refurbishment and intends to incorporate a microbrewery on site. The pub will reopen next year.
Vapiano announces plans to double restaurant sites
According to The Caterer, Italian cuisine restaurant brand Vapiano has announced plans to double its restaurant offering in Europe by 2020. The UK currently has four Vapiano sites, three in London and one in Manchester, however Edinburgh and Glasgow sites will open next and another London location is also planned for 2018.
23 new member hotels for Preferred Hotels & Resorts
Preferred Hotels & Resorts is the world's largest independent hotel brand. Boutique Hotelier has announced that the brand will add 23 new member hotels, spread across 13 countries. There are currently more than 650 premises in the group, spread across 85 countries.
Seventh pub for Unique Hospitality Management
Neil Gerrard from The Caterer writes that Unique Hospitality Management has taken on its seventh pub, Star Pubs and Bars-owned the Fox Inn at Boars Hill, Oxfordshire. Having acquired the lease from MLC Pubs, Unique Hospitality Management, lead by managing director Andrew Coath, will undertake a refurbishment programme, investing £350,000 in to the site. The pub will reopen on the 21st September.
Profit growth for M Restaurants
In the run up to the opening of M Bar & Grill on 11th September in Twickenham, M Restaurants has reported a 9.3% like-for-like growth for the nine months to August. As reported in Eat Out Magazine, the business had an EBITDA increase of £198,000. M Victoria saw a profit increase of 11.5% whilst M Threadneedle Street witnessed increased like-for-like growth of 7.6%.
And Finally...
According to The Caterer, August saw a 2.5% increase in spend across bars, hotels and restaurants when compared with August 2016. The Hospitality industry was one of the best sectors in terms of performance which has partly been attributed to the staycation trend.
