Blind Tiger acquires the Rose & Crown in Chorley
Blind Tiger, the community pub operator based in the North-West, has acquired the lease for the Rose & Crown in Chorley, Lancashire, marking their 13th site. According to The Morning Advertiser, Blind Tiger will now jointly invest £75,000 along with Star Pubs & Bars in order to carry out a refurbishment.
The Cairn Collection acquires first aparthotel
Newcastle-based hotel group, The Cairn Collection has added its first aparthotel to the portfolio, named 91 Aparthotel. Marking the group's 11th property, the aparthotel is located in the Jesmond area of Newcastle and comprises of 16 apartments in total, according to Boutique Hotelier.
Pizza Punks acquire third restaurant
Pizza Punks has acquired their third site, which also marks their first in England, their first two sites being situated in Glasgow and Belfast. The site on Grey Street in Newcastle is a former Café Rouge restaurant and is expected to open in early September. According to Propel Info, Pizza Punks plans to have 20 sites by 2022.
Lucky Onion acquires Cheltenham's George Hotel
Boutique hotel group, Lucky Onion, led by the founder of Superdry, Julian Dunkerton, has acquired the George Hotel in Cheltenham, adding to their established portfolio of country pubs, restaurants and hotels in the Cotswolds. Dating back to 1840, the Grade II listed property was sold by Cotswolds Inns and Hotels; and, according to Boutique Hotelier, the 31-bedroom hotel will now undergo a refurbishment.
Flesh & Buns to launch in Fitzrovia next month
Ross Shonhan, the founder of ramen bar, Bone Daddies, is set to launch 170-cover restaurant, Flesh & Buns. According to Propel Info, the bao bun concept will be located in Berners Street, Fitzrovia, London; opening on Friday 21st September.
And Finally...
A new concept bar, Sinner, is set to launch in Hackney, reports Pub and Bar Magazine. Established by Seb Lyall, founder of Lollipop, the new concept will combine shots and arcade games. Housed in 18 Bohemia Place, the new experience invites customers to play arcade games, after which their success dictates the type of shot they can order from the bar.
