Adventure Bar to open new Shoreditch site
Having received a £1.4m debt financing deal from OakNorth bank, Adventure Bar is set to open a new site in Shoreditch. Pub and Bar Magazine reports that the refinancing package is Adventure Bar's third batch and will bring OakNorth's total spend up to £3m. Adventure Bar has six sites across London, Tonight Josephine and Bar Elba, both in Waterloo, being their newest, as well as an aprés ski bar in France. The new Shoreditch site will be known as Electricity Showrooms and be located in Hoxton Square. The funding will also cover the refurbishment of an existing site in Covent Garden.
Green & Fortune to implement £1.5m Kings Place refurbishment
Green & Fortune is set to spend in excess of £1.5m on a comprehensive renovation of its operation at London's Kings Place, which encompasses a bar, restaurant, terrace, café as well as private events spaces. The Caterer reports that the refurbishment project is in collaboration with Design LSM and Inature. Rotunda bar and restaurant will close on 27th July, and is due to re-open in mid-September. Furthermore, Green & Fortune will celebrate their 10th birthday in October.
London Union report 40% increase in revenue in 2017
Street Feast's parent company, London Union, has reported a 40% increase in revenue in 2017, to £12.8m. The Caterer reports that during 2017 London Union opened a Canary Wharf site, marking the group's first seven-day-a-week operation. Additionally, they also secured and opened a Woolwich site as well as a sixth street food market in Wood Green.
Blackpool Pleasure Beach announces £12m hotel as Boulevard Hotel
Blackpool Pleasure Beach has announced the name of its new £12m hotel, the Boulevard Hotel. According to Boutique Hotelier, the 120-room hotel is set to open in Spring 2019 and will also feature dining and conference facilities, Ocean Bar, Beachside Restaurant Surfside Café as well as Shoreside Conference Centre.
Soho House reveals details for Mollie's diner and motel
Soho House has unveiled details for a proposed American diner and motel, Mollie's. Propel Info reports that Mollie's is proposed for the Buckland services on the A420, between Faringdon and Oxford and is set to open in December.
And Finally...
The Queens Head in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, has been let to Ben Hutton, a local award-winning restaurateur. Hutton currently operates Ben's Restaurant, which is situated a few doors down from the former Queens Head and focuses on sustainably sourced produce. The property was let by Fleurets, on behalf of Wellington Pub Company and is now set to undergo a comprehensive refurbishment.
