Bel & The Dragon acquired by Fuller's
Fuller, Smith & Turner has announced its acquisition of six Bel & The Dragon sites, across Berkshire and Surrey. The Morning Advertiser reported Fuller's financial results for the year ending 31 March 2018, which saw a 2.9% growth in like-for-like sales within their managed pubs and hotels division, whilst tenanted inns reported a 3% rise in like-for-like profits.
Sri Lankan street food brand, The Coconut Tree, looks to expand
Currently operating sites in Oxford and Cheltenham, and with a third site pending in Bristol, The Coconut Tree is looking to expand across major towns and cities in the UK, appointing Fleurets to coordinate the search. The Caterer reports that the Sri Lankan street food concept serves tapas-style food and cocktails.
Plans for new 196 bedroom Soho hotel
The owner of the Sheraton Grand London Park Lane and Athenaeum has announced plans to transform three buildings in Soho into a 196 bedroom high-end lifestyle hotel. The Caterer reports that the building is planned for Wardour Street occupying 20 St Anne's Court, Mentorn House and Film House. The architectural design is being overseen by MoreySmith, and the six-storey property will feature two ground-floor restaurants as well as a rooftop bar and restaurant. Furthermore the property will offer gym and conference facilities.
New restaurant, Soane's Kitchen to launch in Ealing
Alex Head, the founder of Social Pantry, has announced plans to launch a new restaurant and café in Ealing, Soane's Kitchen, reports The Caterer. Set to open in July, the new 70-cover restaurant will be housed within Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery, which was built between 1800 and 1804 by Sir John Soane. The new restaurant has been designed by architects firm Jestico + Whiles.
Ramside Estates to transform Sedgefield pub
Ramside Estates, a North East-based hotel group, has announced plans to transform The Hope Inn in Sedgefield into a restaurant with rooms, reports Propel Info. Undergoing a £1.5m refurbishment and being re-named The Impeccable Pig, the property will feature a 125-cover upmarket brasserie, bar and beer garden as well as 10 rooms, some of which will be outside and with their own saunas and hot tubs.
And Finally...
Turf To Table, the Cotswolds-based hospitality group, is being acquired by investment firm Sovereign Mines of Africa, according to Propel Info. Turf To Table's portfolio consists of three gastro pubs which between them offer 38 bedrooms. In respect of the acquisition, Sovereign Mines of Africa sought valuation advice from Fleurets' South West office.
