Heineken invest £40m for new Beavertown brewery
Following a £40m investment from Heineken, Beavertown, the London-based craft beer firm, is set to open a new brewery and visitor site, Beaverworld. The Caterer reports that the new brewery will feature a 45,000,000 litre brewing facility spread across 125,000 sq ft, with an additional visitor space. Beavertown is expected to be located within the M25 and create around 150 jobs.
The Butcher set to expand into UK market
The Butcher, a Netherlands-based 'haute fast food' brand, is set to expand into the UK market launching a franchise business model and intending to open 20 restaurants in the next five years. Part of the Entourage Group, The Butcher currently has sites in Amsterdam, Ibiza and Berlin, with two more sites planned for Milan and Dubai. The Caterer reports that the brand, which offers Aberdeen Angus beef burgers in semi-brioche buns, is looking to double its sales figure of £10.5m by 2020.
Criterion Capital to open 'urban hotel' as first hospitality venture
Criterion Capital is set to launch their first hospitality venture, a West-End 'urban hotel' named Assembly London. According to Boutique Hotelier, the 121-bedroom hotel has been designed by Scott Brownrigg architects, and each bedroom has been inspired by iconic London designers, including Alexander McQueen, Gareth Pugh and Stella McCartney.
ETM to open Redwood by the Shard
ETM is set to open its latest venue at London Bridge reports Pub and Bar Magazine. The bar, restaurant and sports lounge, named Redwood, will be located adjacent to The Shard and is being designed by Russell Sage Studio. The ground floor space is 2,000 sq ft, whilst the mezzanine level offers a further 1,700 st ft.
Loungers on track to reach 140 by the end of 2018
Loungers, who currently operate 104 Lounges and 2 Cosy Clubs, is on track to reaching its goal of 140 sites by the end of 2018, reports Propel Info. Since the beginning of 2018, Loungers has introduced 12 new sites, the latest additions being Lounges in Warrington, Bicester, Grantham and Chorlton as well as a Guildford Cosy Club. The group have also confirm that the 23rd Cosy Cub site is confirmed for Norwich, which will open in Autumn.

Bird & Blend Tea Co, a Brighton tea business has seen its revenue top £2m, reports Propel Info. Founded by Mike Turner and Kristina Smith in 2012, to capitalise on the alternative tea brewing and drinking trend, the company now operates seven stores, including a flagship site in Brighton with backing from Start Up Loans Company.
