Late night leisure spend increases by 6.9%

According to the Deltic Night Index, between February and April 2018, the late night leisure spend has increased 6.9% year-on-year to £59.40. As reported by Pub and Bar magazine, Deltic's report also shows the number of British consumers going on a night out once a week has increased from 54.5% to 56.4%.

Fuller's acquires We Are Bar Group sites

According to Pub and Bar magazine, four We Are Bar Group sites in London have been acquired by Fuller, Smith & Turner PLC. The four sites are The Saint in Paternoster Square, Jamies in London Bridge, Jamies in Fleet Place as well as Jamies in Creechurch Lane. Two of the four sites have reached completion, whilst the other two are expected to complete in the coming weeks.

Marriott reports 3.6% increase in revpar

Marriott International, the world's largest hotel group, has reported a 3.6% increase in global revpar (revenue per available room) for Q1 2018. According to The Caterer, the hotel group exchanged contracts for almost 20,000 new rooms between January and March, increasing Marriott's development pipeline to a new record of just under 465,000 rooms.

Hickory's Smokehouse to open new restaurant in Worcester

Hickory's, the American-style barbecue and smokehouse brand, is set to open its eighth site in Tybridge Street, Worcester later in summer. According to Propel Info, the new 150 cover restaurant will feature an open kitchen as well as a cinema room internally, and outside a children's play zone, table tennis area, firepit and veranda. The Piper backed restaurant already has two other restaurants in the West Midlands, alongside sites in Merseyside, Coventry, Chester and one in North Wales.

Izakaya expands to the Wirral

Izakaya, the Liverpool-based Japanese restaurant, expands with new opening in the Wirral. According to Propel Info, the new restaurant will launch in New Brighton at Marine Street Social. The multi-use venue will also host Wallasey-based dessert-maker Yog Time as well as Chutney Street Food. Izakaya's new restaurant, along with the other venues, are set to open on Friday 25th May.

And Finally...

Tart, the London bakery brand, is looking to raise £250,000 via crowdfunding platform Seedrs in order to establish a third site and central kitchen. Founders Jason Smith and Adam Harrison are offering 10.4% of its equity in return for the investment, according to Propel Info. The first Tart site is located in Clapham, and the second in East Dulwich.
