City Pub Group reports increases in turnover and like-for-like sales
City Pub Group, the operator of 44 pub sites across South England and Wales, has announced a 22% year-on-year increase in annual turnover, to £45.6m for the 52 week period to 30th December 2018. The Morning Advertiser also reported that City Pub Group saw a 1.6% growth in like-for-like sales for the same period.
Easyhotel reports strong trading figures and announce openings
Super budget hotel brand Easyhotel has reported a 60% increase in revenue and a total system sales growth of 31%. Furthermore, Propel reports that Easyhotel will open a Bristol site in 2020 and a 124-bedroom Milton Keynes hotel later this financial year. Additional hotel development projects include: Oxford (180 rooms), Cardiff (120 rooms), Chester (109 rooms), Cambridge (100 rooms) as well as Blackpool (103 rooms), which are all anticipated to open in Easyhotel's 2020/2021 financial year.
Frankie's Burgers expands
Frankie's Burgers, the Northern-based casual dining brand, is set to open its second restaurant in Blackburn, therefore doubling its estate. Big Hospitality reports that the brand already operates in Batley, Yorkshire, which opened in August 2016. Frankie's Burgers intend to open five restaurants in the next two years.
The Inn Collection Group has opened a £4m newly-built pub
The Inn Collection Group has opened The Amble Inn, located in the Northumberland town Amble. Pub and Bar Magazine reports that the purpose-built pub was constructed by Northumberland County Council's development company Advance Northumberland, and received £448,500 in funding from the Rural Growth Network's Strategic Economic Infrastructure Fund, part of the North East Local Enterprise Partnership's capital programme which supports rural businesses and stimulates business growth across Gateshead, Durham and Northumberland.
Soho House to launch Mollie's Motel & Diner
Soho House is set to launch its budget hotel concept this month, Mollie's Motel & Diner. The 1950s American motels and diners inspired concept is set to open in Buckland, Oxfordshire; and Propel reports that plans are underway for Manchester and Bristol sites.
And Finally...
Oakman Inns has announced plans to open six new venues and also reports an 8.3% increase in like-for-like sales over the Christmas period, for the five weeks ending 6th January 2019. The Morning Advertiser continues that total sales increased by 36.1% to £29.7m for the 40-week period.
