Shoreditch Bar Group purchases remaining Novus estate
Shoreditch Bar Group has purchased the remaining Novus sites for an undisclosed sum, reports Propel. The five units include: Piccadilly Institute, Ruby Blue, Zoo Bar, Tiger Tiger London and Tiger Tiger Cardiff. Furthermore, Shoreditch Bar Group also purchased the Novus head office.
The Wagyu Bar & Grill opens second restaurant in Harrogate
The Wagyu Bar & Grill, a Yorkshire-based restaurant concept, has opened its second site in the former Jamie's Italian in Harrogate. Propel reports the first Wagyu Bar & Grill opened in mid-March in York. The beef is sourced from the owner's farm, Warrendale Farm in Warter, near Pocklington.
Great Scotland Yard Hotel to launch this summer
Great Scotland Yard Hotel in London, due to launch this summer, will mark the first UK hotel under the Unbound Collection by Hyatt. Boutique Hotelier reports that London developer the Galliard Group started converting the former Met Police HQ into a 152-bedroom luxury hotel three and a half years ago, having acquired the 125-year lease from the Crown Estate. Sholto Smith will be the hotel's general manager, joined by founder of The Dairy in South London Robin Gill, Alex Harper as executive chef and Lewis Wright as general manager for food and beverage. The hotel will also house modern British restaurant The Yard, The Parlour tearoom, cocktail bar The Forty Elephants, whisky bar Sibin and events space Grace and Favour.
D&D London to open 14 Hills at 120 Fenchurch Street
D&D London has announced the opening of its latest London restaurant, 14 Hills, a 9,200 sq ft unit situated on the 14th floor of 120 Fenchurch Street. The Caterer reports that the restaurant, which will serve a modern British menu with a French flair created by executive chef Thomas Piat, will open this November.
Buenasado opens in Reading
Buenasado, the Argentine steakhouse, has opened a new restaurant in the former CAU unit in the Oracle Shopping Centre in Reading. Propel reports that having opened their first restaurant in Wimbledon in 2011, the concept now has outlets in Richmond, Chiswick, Walton-on-Thames, Horsham and Reigate.
And Finally...
Kerb has announced the first line-up of traders for the Seven Dials Market in London, which is due to open this September. The Caterer reports that the line-up includes: alcohol-free pop-up Square Root, fried fish concept INK; the vegan Club Mexicana, Rice Guys who serve modern Chinese rice bowls as well as Yum Bun who offer soft steamed buns.
