Coppa Club expands with two new sites
Coppa Club is set to open a new site in the Swan at Streatley hotel, Berkshire, in July this year. This new site will be followed by another in Brighton, opening in August. The Caterer reports that the two new sites will join existing units in Maidenhead, Sonning, Henley on Thames, Oxfordshire as well as London sites in St Paul's and Tower Bridge. Furthermore Coppa Club reported an 8.9% increase in like-for-like sales from January to March this year.
Paul Heathcote to open new restaurant in Bolton
A new high-end restaurant, The Northern, is set to open in Bolton's Albert Hall this month. The restaurant is being opened by former multi-site chef Paul Heathcote and marks the final stage of the venue's multimillion-pound refurbishment, reports Propel.
Second Munich Cricket Club site planned for Canary Wharf
Moonshine Bars has submitted plans for a second Munich Cricket Club on Hertsmere Road in Canary Wharf. The debut site opened in Victoria in April, whilst Propel reports that Moonshine Bars also operate The Loose Box Bar & Kitchen in Westminster as well as The Rose gastro-pub in Chelsea.
Tom Kerridge to oversee Manchester's new Stock Exchange Hotel
Chef Tom Kerridge is to oversee the on-site restaurant as well as wider food and beverage offer at GG Hospitality's upcoming Stock Exchange Hotel, a 40-bedroom boutique hotel. Big Hospitality reports that the project is due to open in the final quarter of 2019.
Former Claridge's chef purchases hotel in Congleton
Andrew Bourne, the former head pastry chef of Claridge's, has purchased Alexandra Court hotel in Congleton, Cheshire. The Caterer reports that Bourne received a six-figure loan from HSBC UK which has also been used to redecorate the 14 individually designed rooms as well as add a veranda.
And Finally...
The Market, a 20,000 sq ft food hub, is set to open on the second floor of the office development 22 Bishopsgate in the City of London. The space will be run by a collaboration between building owner and developer AXA IM - Real Assets, Young British Foodies and foodservice firm Rhubarb. The Caterer reports that the 450-cover space will include a restaurant with adjoining terrace, wine bar as well as pop-ups and street-food style kiosks on rotation; opening its doors to the public outside of working hours and on Saturdays.
