The Black Horse in Climping bought by Historic Sussex Hotels
The Black Horse in Climping, West Sussex, a Grade II listed 17th century property, has been bought by Historic Sussex Hotels. Fleurets marketed the property on behalf of Ei Group, off a guide price of £500,000. The Black Horse marks the fourth property in Historic Sussex Hotels' portfolio, reports The Caterer, joining the Spread Eagle Hotel & Spa in Midhurst, Ockenden Manor Hotel & Spa in Cuckfield and Bailiffscourt Hotel & Spa.
Blackpool Pleasure Beach hotel set to open in spring
A new hotel on Blackpool's Pleasure Beach is set to open later this spring, reports The Caterer. The £12m Boulevard hotel is currently under construction but will have 120 bedrooms, a Beachside restaurant, Ocean Bar, Surfside café and Shoreside conference centre.
Andrea Reitano to open two new London restaurants
Italian restaurateur Andrea Reitano is set to launch two new London restaurants in April, reports Big Hospitality. The first will be a 100-cover Italian seafood restaurant, Santo Mare, on George Street in Marylebone and the second Osteria Napoletana in Notting Hill, which is intended to be expanded across London. Andrea Reitano also owns Mayfair's Caffe Rei as well as Osteria Romana in Knightsbridge.
The Property Supplier Ltd has bought The Lion Hotel in Builth Wells
As reported by Boutique Hotelier, The Lion Hotel in Builth Wells, Powys, has been bought by the The Property Supplier Ltd. Fleurets marketed the 18-bedroom hotel off a guide price of £475,000, the sold price is undisclosed. The Property Supplier Ltd, which is a family run company by Shaun, Leon and Chantel O'Neil, has also announced intentions to acquire a further four hotels throughout 2019.
Warrington operator acquires third Star Pubs & Bars site
Mark Condliffe, a Warrington-based operator, has taken on his third site with Star Pubs & Bars, The Red Lion in Moore. Pub and Bar Magazine reports that Condliffe's other two sites are the Farmer's Arms at Fearnhead and The Hatton Arms in Hatton. Star Pubs & Bars are investing £240,000 in upgrading The Red Lion.
And Finally...
Baba G's, the winner of BBC 2's My Million Pound Menu, is among the line-up of new openings at a new food and retail space opening next month in London Bridge, reports Big Hospitality. The development, The Vinegar Yard, was conceived by Benji Scrimgeour, who also founded Flat Iron Square which opened in 2016. Baba G's will be joined by The Gentlemen Baristas, Up In My Grill, Nanny Bill's and Sugo.
