Marston's sells 137 pubs to Admiral
Admiral Taverns has purchased 137 pubs from Marston's, reports Propel, for £44.9m. The disposed of assets are smaller wet-led tenanted, leased and franchised pubs; and the transaction is expected to complete before the end of November.
The White Brasserie launches 20th site in Cheltenham
The White Brasserie is launching its 20th site, The Kings Arms in Prestbury, Cheltenham. The grade II listed building has a traditional bar and brasserie with just over 100 covers. The property has undergone an extensive refurbishment, with the interior designed by Inge Watrobski. Pub and Bar Magazine reports that the pub will open on the 9th December.
Greene King transaction completes
The Morning Advertiser reports that the £2.7bn transaction which sees Hong Kong-company CK Bidco take on Greene King has now completed. CK Bidco (CKB) is a subsidiary of CK Asset Holdings.
Simmons Bars to expand regionally in 2021
Owner of Simmons Bars, Nick Campbell, has announced that he will expand the estate outside of London in 2021. Target regional locations will include Birmingham, Manchester, Bristol, Leeds and Brighton. Propel reports that the 16-strong London estate will expand to 25 sites.
First permanent site in Durham for Barrio Comida
Barrio Comida is set to launch a permanent site in Durham's city centre, following a successful year-long residency. Big Hospitality reports that the taqueria is expected to open next month.
And Finally...
Founders of BBQ Dreams, Lee Johnson and Sinead Campbell, will be opening their first permanent restaurant in Bethnal Green later this month. Big Hospitality reports that the concept, Bong Bong's will open with a soft launch on 7th November. Johnson and Campbell secured a £350,000 investment from Draft House founder Charlie McVeigh on My Million Pound Menu.
