citizenM plans for fourth London hotel

citizenM has acquired Denison House in London's Victoria, reports Boutique Hotelier. Set to open in 2021, the 226-bedroom hotel will mark citizenM's fourth London hotel. Construction at 292 Vauxhall Bridge Road will begin in May 2020, following the demolition of Denison House. citizenM operates hotels in New York, Paris, Kuala Lumpur, Copenhagen and Amsterdam; as well as their three London sites: Bankside (2012), Tower of London (2016) and Shoreditch (2016).

Robinsons Brewery announces turnover increase

Stockport-based independent brewery and pub operator, Robinsons Brewery, has announced a 6.1% increase in turnover for the year ending 31st December 2018, from £71.2m the previous year to £75.5m. Pub and Bar Magazine also reported that profit before tax also increased from £3.2m to £7.1m.

Loungers to open second Birmingham Cosy Club

Loungers is set to open a second site in Birmingham for its Cosy Club brand, reports Propel. Cosy Club will be joining the likes of Be At One and The Alchemist in Brindleyplace, occupying a 6,000 sq ft space above Stonegate Pub Company's Slug and Lettuce. Nick Collins, chief executive of Loungers, announced potential for 400 Lounges and 100 Cosy Clubs and last month opened its 150th site.

The Tap In opens at Elephant Park

The founders of Six Yard Box and Hop Art have opened a craft beer concept, The Tap In, at the Elephant Park development in south London. Propel reports that having trialled the concept at Artworks Elephant, the pop-up retail park, this unit marks the first permanent site for The Tap In.

Founders of Tart London to open first restaurant

The founders of Tart London, Jemima Jones and Lucy Carr-Ellison, are to launch their first restaurant next month, reports Big Hospitality. The restaurant will be located in Eccleston Yards in London's Belgravia. The restaurant will be opening within a 9,000 sq ft multipurpose space which also contains a deli, bar, events space, retail offering and photography studio.

Planning permission was unanimously approved for Chester Zoo to open a restaurant and hotel which will overlook its new African savannah habitat, reports The Caterer. Comprising of 42 rooms, visitors will stay in African-themed lodges and rigid tents, waking up to views of the giraffes.
