Hospitality sales increase 1.9% in January

The Morning Advertiser has reported that January like-for-like sales were up by 1.9%. Managed pubs saw growth of 1.7% and restaurant groups saw increases of 2.5%.

Travelodge plans 20 hotels in London

Travelodge has opened two hotels in London, and has plans to launch a further 20 hotels in the capital over the next five years. The Caterer reports that the two new hotels are a 113-bedroom hotel in Beckton and a 78-bedroom hotel in Dagenham. Travelodge now has 589 properties, including 77 hotels in London.

Erpingham House to open in Brighton

Erpingham House, the UK's largest vegan restaurant, which opened in Norwich in 2018, is set to open its second UK outpost, in Brighton's Duke Street. The site will occupy the former Canna Kitchen and open next month. Big Hospitality reports that the business recently completed a £250,000 funding round.

Edyn Group to open aparthotel in Aldgate

Edyn Group, the aparthotel operator, is set to open a £27m site in Aldgate, London. Propel reports that the Locke hotel will have 103-bedrooms over 12 storeys. Furthermore, the Buckle Street venue will have office space and a ground-floor restaurant. The development is due to open in summer 2021.

Bundobust to open in Manchester

Bundobust, the Gujarati street food and craft beer concept, has announced it will open a 150-cover restaurant and brewery in Manchester. Opening in spring this year, the new opening will occupy the St James' building on Oxford Street and mark the fourth site in their portfolio and second in Manchester. Big Hospitality reports that the 4,000 sq ft space will house nine fermenting vessels, capable of producing 28,000 pints per month.

St Austell Brewery has acquired two Devon hotels, reports Pub and Bar Magazine. The hotels are Dartmouth's Royal Castel Hotel and The Royal Seven Stars in Totnes. The brewery has an estate of 182 sites.
