Plan for cricket-based competitive socialising venture
Bloomsbury Leisure plans to open an indoor cricket-based competitive socialising concept called Batting Stars. Propel has reported that the business is in talks over a unit at the 100 Bishopsgate development.
Dishoom to open in Birmingham
Dishoom has confirmed that it will be opening a Birmingham restaurant, within the city's Paradise development, on the 1st April this year. Big Hospitality reports that 330-cover venue will overlook Birmingham Town Hall.
Le Cordon Bleu to open London restaurant
Le Cordon Bleu, the French culinary school, is to open a London restaurant. CORD will open this spring at 85 Fleet Street, marking the 125th anniversary of the first Le Cordon Bleu school in Paris. Big Hospitality reports that CORD will house a 90-cover restaurant, a 30-cover café as well as a teaching area.
Lucky Onion co-founder to launch Cult Hotels
The co-founder of The Lucky Onion, Julian Dunkerton, is to launch a new concept Cult Hotels. The George in Cheltenham will open this spring, becoming the first property in the Cult Hotels' portfolio and the flagship hotel. Boutique Hotelier reports that the concept will look to expand to popular cities and towns over the next 'few years'.
Drake & Morgan to open near London Bridge
Drake & Morgan will launch The Semaphore near London Bridge, reports Propel, housed in the former Cooperage Bar on Tooley Street. It is understood that Drake & Morgan are awaiting the go ahead from Network Rail before they start developing the site.
And Finally...
Matthew Carver, founder of Pick & Cheese and The Cheese Barge is to launch a boat-based cheese concept on a permanent mooring on the Grand Union Canal. Big Hospitality reports that The Cheese Barge will open this April just to the north of Paddington station.
