Greene King in discussions with landlords on Loch Fyne estate
According to The Caterer, Greene King has confirmed it is in talks with the landlords of its Loch Fyne sites, ahead of making a formal decision to proceed with a company voluntary arrangement (CVA). It is thought any outcome will not see any jobs impacted and that it won't impact the 11 trading sites under the brand.
Ei Publican Partnerships support extends to June
Stonegate Group is continuing its support for Ei Publican Partnership publicans with rent and trade credits throughout April, May and June. This support builds on the substantial financial assistance given to publicans in the form of significantly reduced rents and trade credits, together with Government grants including the latest restart grants of between £8,000 - £18,000 as pubs prepare to reopen, Hospitality and Catering News has reported.
Oakman Group grows its bedroom footprint with acquisition of Woburn Hotel lease
Boutique Hotelier advise that The Oakman Group is continuing to expand its footprint of overnight accommodation with the acquisition of The Woburn Hotel in Bedforshire. The Group, which recently took ownership of six former Seafood Pub Company properties, has signed a 25-year lease for the 48-bedroom hotel on the Duke of Bedford's Woburn Estate.
Carlsberg to make WWF donation per on-trade pint sold
The Morning Advertiser report that Carlsberg has pledged to offer a donation to the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) for every pint of Carlsberg Pilsner and Carlsberg Export that is served in participating pubs when trading restrictions are lifted.
The Inn Collection Group shores up prime waterfront Lakes purchase
The Inn Collection Group is continuing to make waves with the acquisition of waterfront Lake District venue The Wateredge Inn at Ambleside. The undisclosed deal for the 38-bedroom site was finalised on Wednesday, with The Wateredge Inn becoming the group's third venue in the destination Lakes town of Ambleside, according to Boutique Hotelier.
Away Resorts acquires St Ives holiday park for eighth site
Insider Media has reported that a major holiday park situated on the North Cornish coastline has been acquired by a resort group backed by Freshstream and LDC. Away Resorts has acquired St Ives Bay Holiday Park in Cornwall. The 120-acre site, which has been in family ownership since 1962, becomes Away Resorts' eighth holiday park.
Covid-19: Pubs could require vaccine passports - Boris Johnson
The BBC reports that pub goers could be asked to provide a vaccine certificate, Boris Johnson has told MPs, saying it "may be up to individual publicans". A review is looking into whether people should have to prove they have been vaccinated, as lockdown measures ease. A government source told the BBC that the option of allowing people to show a negative test was also being looked at.
