Fleurets' North West office have sold the Nags Head, Bunbury to Trust Inns, off an asking price of £375,000.
Commenting on the deal, Fleurets Divisional Director Tim Martin said, "Everyone who looked at the Nags Head seemed to fall in love with it and as a result, there was competitive bidding which saw the pub sell for a figure in excess of the asking price. This is a quintessential English village pub and the opportunity to acquire it as an investment, leaving the sitting tenant to continue his business, attracted a lot of interest."
The sitting tenant Henry Cunningham said "I worked successfully with Trust Inns many years ago at other pubs, so when I found out they might be interested, I was delighted. The sale process brought a brief period of uncertainty but I'm now looking forward to renewing my relationship with Trust Inns and to ensuring that the Nags Head continues to thrive."
Finally, Mark Brown - MD at Trust Inns - stated that this acquisition demonstrates just how flexible his company's property requirements can be. "This was an investment sale with a free of tie tenant. However, we feel that this is a classic pub and it made long term sense to purchase it whilst it was available. Henry is well known and liked by us and we are happy to see him continue his good work at the Nags Head."
