The Nightcap group is set to open a flagship site for its brand - The Cocktail Club - in Birmingham later this year, reports Morning Advertiser. Nightcap, the owner of The Cocktail Club, the Adventure Bar Group and the Barrio Familia group of bars, has recently opened sites for The Cocktail Club in Reading and Bristol during the past few months.
Restaurant, pub and bar leaders are increasingly optimistic about prospects for 2022, CGA and Fourth's Business Leaders' Survey reveals. The survey also indicated improved profitability in the hospitality sector. More than four in five (84%) leaders said their business was operating at a profit, advises The Caterer. UKHospitality has warned that Government failure to tackle 'chronic' labour shortages in hospitality will stifle the sector's pandemic recovery, echoing the wider conclusions of a new report from MPs. The report, published by the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Committee, examined the state of labour shortages in the food and farming sector and found that acute labour shortages causes primarily by Brexit and the Covid-19 pandemic may cause the food sector to face permanent shrinkage, reports Big Hospitality.
Pub group Portobello Starboard, backed by private equity firm Zetland Capital, has secured £40m to expand its portfolio of pubs from OakNorth Bank, advises Morning Advertiser. With the loan from OakNorth bank, Zetland Capital, who were advised by Westfort Advisors, has planned to grow its estate of freehold pubs through five acquisitions across London and the south of England, starting with three sites in Brighton.
